Arduino Uno Q – a new generation learning platform for schools and technical colleges
The teaching of electronics and programming is developing rapidly. At the same time, educational institutions are looking for solutions that support both basic microcontroller teaching and more advanced artificial intelligence, IoT, and Linux programming.
The new Arduino Uno Q responds to this need in a unique way: it combines a Linux computer and real-time MCU control in the same device. This makes Uno Q one of the most versatile learning platforms on the market.
What makes Arduino Q special for educational use?
Two worlds in one device: Linux + microcontroller
Arduino Q combines:
- Qualcomm Dragonwing QRB2210 high-performance Linux-based SBC
- STM32U585 – real-time microcontroller for precise control
This package enables courses in which the following can be taught:
- Basic and advanced microcontroller programming
- Linux command line, services, and scripting
- IoT architecture
- sensor fusion, artificial intelligence model execution, and edge computing
On one and the same platform.
Open hardware supports teaching
The Uno Q circuit board is published under a CC-BY-SA 4.0 license, which makes it transparent and perfectly suited for teaching.
Students can:
- Examine the circuit board design.
- Understand the placement of components.
- Compare the architecture to a classic Uno board.
- Openness increases understanding of device-level functionality, not just programming.
Arduino programming and learning environments (IDE Web Editor and App-Lab)
Arduino IDE
A traditional and powerful programming environment that works for both microcontrollers and Linux programming.
Arduino Web Editor
A browser-based editor—no installation required. Excellent for schools where students’ computers or IT rights vary.
Arduino App-Lab
An interactive learning environment where students can progress through a pre-built learning path. Teachers receive ready-made, planned material without having to build everything themselves. You can learn more about the environment here: Arduino App-Lab
Uno Q enables new types of projects
Uno Q enables projects that could not be easily implemented with previous Uno generations:
- Face and motion detection
- Voice-based control
- Data analytics and ML inference
- IoT devices and data transmission to the cloud
- Robotics
Students see a clear continuum from basic LED control to artificial intelligence and IoT technology.

Suitable for all levels of education
- Elementary school
- Basic use of sensors
- Visual projects
- Understanding programming logic
High school
- Linux & IoT
- Data visualization
