Conflict Minerals Statement
Elgood Oy is aware of the Dodd-Frank Consumer Protection Act, Section 1502 regarding Conflict Minerals.
“Conflict Minerals” refers to minerals or other derivatives (specifically, Tin, Tantalum, Tungsten, and Gold, alsoknown as 3TG) mined in the eastern provinces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and in the adjoining countries where the revenues of the 3TG minerals may be directly or indirectly financing armed groups engaged in civil war resulting in serioussocial and environmental abuses. In July 2010, the United States passed the Dodd-Frank Financial Reform & Consumer Protection Act, section 1502(b) requiring all US public companies and their suppliers to disclose the chain of custody usage of conflict minerals.
While Elgood is not a U.S. listed company and is not subject to SEC reporting, Elgood Oy fully supports this legislation and its position is to avoid the use of conflict minerals.
Elgood Oy does not procure 3TG minerals directly from mines or smelters. The company is dependent on its suppliers as here Elgood Oy is considered ‘the customer’ and not the ‘manufacturer’ of the purchased products.
Elgood Oy has no reason to believe that the minerals used for production or functionality of the products that are in commercial offer of Elgood Oy may have originated from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and neighboring countries or were mined under inhuman conditions.
As an authorized distributor, we canprovide the Responsible Minerals Initiative Conflict Mineral Reporting Templates (RMI CMRTs) when made available by the manufacturers.
Elgood Oy is unable to make any claims of material content regarding the product another company manufactures or to certify to the RMI CMRT.
We hope that this declaration contains the information you require.
RoHS3
RoHS2-directive is EU’s Directive 2011/65/EU with amendment 2015/863/EU. RoHS2 stands for “Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical Equipment”. RoHS2-directive prohibits the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment sold in EU from 1st. January 2013.
The Directive was updated in 2015 – Directive (EU) 2015/863 amended EU RoHS with 4 new Phthalates: DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP, which came in to force July 22th 2019.
Elgood is a distributor of electronics components and manufacturers’ representative, we do not manufacture components. We cannot provide RoHS3 certificate on behalf of our suppliers. Most of our manufacturers have taken the policy that RoHS3 certificate is only provided on request for part numbers. For ROHS3 certification, we can provide our customers a list of components supplied to them. To avoid unnecessary work for our manufacturers’ factories, we ask customers to tell us which products are still actively used.
Elgood pays attention to environmental issues when selecting suppliers, and we represent only manufacturers who are committed to complying with them.
